We have moved into our Melbourne residence, namely in a place called South Yarra. It's lovely, near the Botanical Gardens, Fawkner Park with good access to the city. Packed with many restaurants (including a steak house!) and near the shopping district of Chapel Street, this really is yuppie-ville!
Last weekend we went away for the weekend to Warramnbool which is on the South Coast with friends Gail and Jon and some of Gail's PWC secondment friends. We saw whales fairly close to the shore (photos were dissapointing, despite the number of pictures Fi insisted on taking of the sea!) and drove back along the Great Ocean road where we saw the 12 Apostles and other amazing natural rock features. We also had a true Aussie BBQ despite the icy temperatures!
Unfortunately, the reality of our first few weeks has been Fi settling into work, Dave finding us a place to live, trying hard to find a job and various other bits of admin getting in the way of our kangaroo spotting. We now have Dave's sister, Emma, here for 3 weeks and so this weekend we have shown her around. We went to Healesville Animal Sanctuary, in the Yarra Valley to show her some of Australia's indiginous species!
Photos include our new flat, Healeville's best and pictures from our weekend away.
